Clip-In Hair Extensions - Dark Blonde #7 (US #8A Light Ash Brown)
Description
A cool, smoky light brown with no red or golden reflect. #8A Light Ash Brown is a level 8 shade with an ash (A) tone: in daylight it reads as a soft greige brown, under warm indoor lighting it looks slightly deeper. This 150g clip-in set is made from Slavic human hair, available in 22 and 24 inches, and goes in without a salon appointment.
About the #8A Light Ash Brown Shade
The number describes depth, the letter describes tone. Level 8 sits between light brown and dark blonde; "A" means the shade is built on cool, blue-gray undertones rather than warm gold or copper.
- Depth: light brown, level 8
- Undertone: cool, ash
- What you won't see: brassy, orange or red reflects
- Closest everyday descriptions: ash brown, mushroom brown, cool "dirty blonde"
Who This Shade Works For
- Natural hair at level 7–8 with a cool or neutral undertone
- Ash brown or greige balayage, where the extensions should match the mid-lengths and ends
- Cool-toned highlights on a light brown base, as a blending shade
- Hair that has been toned to remove warmth and should stay that way at the lengths
If your hair shows golden or copper reflects in sunlight, a warm shade will blend more naturally. Compare with #8 Light Chestnut Brown (same depth, warm tone) or #6 Chestnut Brown (one level deeper).
How to Check the Match
- Look at your hair in natural daylight, away from direct sun.
- Compare the shade against your mid-lengths and ends, not the roots: clip-ins sit under the top layer and blend with the lengths.
- If you are between two shades, send a daylight photo to our team on WhatsApp for a color recommendation, or visit our Beverly Hills showroom to compare against physical swatches.

22 or 24 Inches: How to Choose
Both lengths come in the same 150g weight. 22 inches gives more density per inch and suits a fuller, polished finish. 24 inches spreads the same weight over more length, giving a longer, lighter-moving result. With fine natural hair, 22 inches is usually easier to blend.
Keeping the Ash Tone Cool
Ash shades are the most sensitive to warming. Sun, chlorine, hard water and heat styling can gradually bring out warmer reflects.
- Wash only when needed, with a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner.
- To refresh the cool tone, use a blue-toning shampoo occasionally; test it on one weft first.
- Apply heat protectant and keep styling tools on moderate settings.
- Remove the set before swimming and store it flat or hanging, away from direct sunlight.
