Description
Sandy Blonde is a soft, neutral-cool blonde with a light sandy-beige reflect, equivalent to US colour #18. It carries no visible gold and reads like naturally light hair after a summer at the beach: bright, soft and slightly muted rather than yellow. Supplied as 20 tapes per pack in eight lengths from 14" to 28", in Slavic hair professionally lightened and toned.

Who this shade matches
Sandy Blonde suits natural and coloured blondes at level 7 to 9 whose hair reads neutral or slightly cool in daylight, and cool or neutral skin tones. It is the shade for blonde that you want soft and natural-looking, without warmth showing through.
Against warm golden blonde hair, a cool sandy tone reads dull. If your hair is warm, Golden Blonde #8 (US #14) or Butter Blonde #7.11 (US #16) will blend better.
Sandy Blonde is also a strong base for a lived-in cool blonde:
- For brighter pieces, add Light Beige Blonde #12.4 (US #22) at the surface and around the face.
- For a soft root shadow, place Dark Ash Brown #7 (US #8A) through the top section. Both shades carry no gold, so the transition stays clean.
Wear and care
Move-ups at 6 to 8 weeks, heat under 450 °F (230 °C) with a protectant on every pass.
- Toning: violet shampoo roughly every third or fourth wash keeps warmth from creeping in. More often than that and the blonde turns dull and violet-grey.
- Strength: a monthly bond treatment, as for any lightened blonde.
- Water: rinse straight after any pool or ocean swim. Chlorine and hard water pull cool tones toward yellow faster than shampoo does.
- Conditioner: mid-lengths and ends only, well clear of the tape tabs.
Questions about Sandy Blonde #18
Is sandy blonde the same as ash blonde?
Close, but softer. Ash blonde actively neutralises gold and can read grey. Sandy blonde is neutral-cool with a light beige softness, so it reads natural rather than steely.
How is #18 different from #22?
Sandy Blonde (US #18) is a level deeper and slightly cooler. Light Beige Blonde #12.4 (US #22) is lighter and fully neutral. The two combine well in one install.
Is sandy blonde a beach blonde?
It is the base of one. Beach blonde usually describes a sun-lightened, multi-tonal look; Sandy Blonde gives the cool natural base, and lighter pieces of #22 add the brightness.
Can I use purple shampoo every wash?
No. It over-deposits and turns the blonde dull and violet-grey. Every third or fourth wash is the usual cadence.
